Key Features & Benefits
-
High-Definition Backlit Display: Features a large, easy-to-read LCD that simultaneously displays conductivity (or TDS/Salinity) alongside the temperature and calibration status.
-
Smart Auto-Ranging: The meter automatically selects the most appropriate measurement range and resolution, ensuring maximum precision whether you are testing ultra-pure water or high-concentration brine.
-
Advanced Temperature Compensation: Since conductivity is highly temperature-dependent, the COND 60 offers a linear compensation coefficient (adjustable from 0.00 to 10.00\% / °C) and a selectable reference temperature (20°C or 25°C).
-
Data Management & GLP: The internal memory stores up to 500 data sets with time and date stamps. The RS232 or USB output allows for seamless data transfer to a PC or printer for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) documentation.
-
Versatile Electrode Holder: The included heavy-duty articulated stand allows for smooth, one-handed placement of the probe into various beaker sizes, reducing the risk of spills or sensor damage.
Primary Applications
-
Pharmaceutical Quality Control: Verifying the conductivity of purified water (PW) and water for injection (WFI).
-
Chemical Manufacturing: Monitoring the concentration of process fluids and ensuring final product specifications.
-
Hydroponics & Nutrient Research: Analyzing the concentration of nutrient solutions in controlled laboratory environments.
-
Desalination & Brine Analysis: Testing high-salinity samples using specialized K=10 conductivity cells.
-
Boiler & Cooling Water Lab: Routine analysis of water samples brought from the field to check for scaling and corrosion potential.
Operational Guidelines
-
Probe Selection: Use a K=0.1 cell for pure water (<20 \mu S/cm), a K=1.0 cell for general water, and a K=10 cell for high-salinity liquids (>20 mS/cm).
-
Calibration: Calibrate daily using a standard solution that is close to your expected sample value (e.g., use 1413 \mu S/cm for general tap or river water).
-
Sample Integrity: Ensure the probe’s platinum plates are fully submerged and that there are no air bubbles trapped within the sensor shroud, as bubbles act as insulators and will cause artificially low readings.
